The 2009 April Junior Open was held on April 25, 2009 at the Grande Prairie Chess Club.  There were 7 players competing in the final junior tournament of the season.  Because there was an odd number of players, one bye was given in every round.  The tournament director, Tim Pradzinski, asked all of the participants receiving "byes" if they would like to play him instead of sitting around waiting for the next round.  They all agreed and those games have been included in the games to the left.  Those games were not rated and don't show up in the crosstable.  I continue to see improvement in all of the junior players and expect great things out of all them next year!  David Miller is clearly on his way to becoming an excellent player and I feel will soon be competing strongly for the club championship.  The results were as follows:
