The 2009 Canadian Open took place at the Delta Edmonton City Centre Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta on July 11, 2009 to July 19, 2009. I was really looking forward to this tournament all year as it only comes to Edmonton every 4 to 5 years.
I started off great at 2.5 out of 3 points. Then, I lost the next 4 games in a row before getting one more win and a draw. I have annotated every game from this tournament. Check out the games and I am sure that you will find some interesting ones. My first two wins were really good. I also especially liked my round 8 game where I lost my Queen for a Rook and a Bishop yet still managed to win the game!
