The 2009 Twenty Days Until Christmas Open was held on December 5, 2009 at the Grande Prairie Chess Club. We had 5 players competing in this tournament. Wade Caughlin wasn't able to play the final round of the tournament so Tim Pradzinski filled in his place.
Wade Caughlin was once again the highest rated player in the tournament at 1925. The other players were Chirs White from LaCrete, Phil Lefkowitz and David Miller.
Wade Caughlin was defeated in the first round by Phil Lefkowitz. Phil played an excellent game and he wound up tied for 1st place with David Miller at the end of the tournament. David's only loss was to Tim Pradzinski in the final round. His result pushed him to a new all-time high of 1702. Congrats Phil and David for a fine tournament.
