The 2010 February Open was held on February 27, 2010 at the Grande Prairie Chess Club. David Miller played higher rated Wade Caughlin in the first round and gave him quite a scare almost pulling off the upset. After that game, they both went on to win their next 2 games thus tieing for first. Elroy Deimert had an excellent tournament as he started off the tournament with 2 wins losing to Wade Caughlin in the last round. His performance was good enough for 3rd place and his rating continues to climb. The results were as follows:
