Please feel free to send an email to Wade Caughlin or Tim Pradzinski regarding any questions you might have. Wade and Tim have many years of chess playing experience and they are valued members of the community. The focus of our club will be to help each other get better at the Sport of Kings! and to have the occasional tournament.

Where Do We Play?

If you wish to play casual chess with other club members, bring your chess equipment and chess clock (if you have one) down to the Grande Prairie Regional College on Tuesday Nights (in Room E302) from 6 PM to 9 PM.

Starting October 18, 2017, we will also be meeting down

at Card's Board Game Café on Wednesday Nights from

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  Card's is located at 10001 100 Avenue

in downtown Grande Prairie.

All ages welcome and all skill levels welcome.

Note:  Please don't bring any outside food or drink to

Card's Board Game Café.  They have awesome snacks and

drinks (including many craft beers, bubble teas and specialty sodas!).

And did I mention that they have awesome food!!

What kind of players are there at the club?

The Grande Prairie Chess Club meets at the Grande Prairie Regional College and Card's Board Game Cafe.  We are always looking for new members to join our club. Currently, we have members at all levels from beginner to expert.

What does it cost to play at the club?

There is no charge to play casual chess at the Grande Prairie Regional College on Tuesday nights.  However, we do require each club member who is not a current member of the Canadian Chess Federation become a member of the Alberta Chess Association.  The yearly cost for adults is $3 and the cost for juniors (20 and under) is $1.  These can be purchased from Wade Caughlin or Tim Pradzinski at the club.

Welcome to the
